Individual Consultations
In order to maximize the learning opportunity at the first appointment, a pre-assessment package is sent to all clients for completion and submission prior to the initial appointment. Medical/family history, food consumption patterns, lifestyle factors and a computerized dietary analysis of a 3 day food record are reviewed even before the client steps into the office. Since these factors are critical for appropriate and thorough evaluation and treatment planning, the first consultation can evolve into an educational experience instead of an information gathering session, thereby maximizing the cost effectiveness of the initial appointment for the client.
Follow-Up Consultations
Depending upon the medical condition or reason for the nutritional consultation, the client may be asked to keep food diaries or food/symptom diaries. These are very effective tools in assessing the client’s progress with the recommendations offered at the initial consultation, and help to identify areas of dietary concerns. With some of the complex nutritional consultations, the food/symptom records assist in evaluating the effect of food intake and physical symptoms or behaviors e.g. for: blood sugar levels, fatigue or energy levels, bowel function, abdominal pain, excess flatulence, muscle/joint aches/pains, headaches and mood to name a few.
Seminars/Lectures/Workshops
Current topics of nutritional interest are offered to groups of adults, mothers of infants or toddlers, children, adolescents, seniors, health professionals or various associations. Topics are presented in a dynamic, educational format that is informative and enjoyable.
Shopping Trips
Group or individual shopping trips to provide nutrition information to aid in the client’s food label awareness, optimal nutritional value, and overall enhanced nutrition knowledge to make smart, appropriate choices in the so-called supermarket jungle.
